OTC Towing (Off the Chain)

I recently had my car towed by this company while visiting my daughter at her apartment complex. Although I understand that I was not parked in a designated guest spot, I called the company simply to confirm the towing details and cost. During the call, I tried to express my frustration about the apartment complex’s lack of adequate guest parking—not toward the towing company itself—but the person I spoke with, who said he was the owner, was very rude and hung up on me. When I called back to ask if the hang-up was intentional, I was told yes, because he said he didn’t have to listen to me express myself. Just used OTC for the first time. I had scheduled a towing the day before I needed. Denny had sent me a text to confirm to and from location and gave me a price right then. Price was very fair and he was spot on with showing up on time to pick up the car. Will definitely be using OTC and Denny for any future towing needs I may have. Appreciate you taking care of my vehicle Denny!

I’ve got to say, I’m disappointed. I worked with OTC in the past when managing multi-family housing in the area. In meeting them on the business side they were friendly and attentive. Flip that, I now manage properties elsewhere and my car was towed from my mom’s community where she’s borrowing it because her battery died. She parked it outside of her apartment because my father is disabled and can’t walk far. OTC towed it. I get it, maybe the community has a contract with them. THIS COMPANY IS HORRIBLE. They towed our car from our apartment complex tonight when we have a permit to park there. We were on the way to the ER at 1 a.m and see our car getting loaded up on the truck. We asked the guy why our car was being towed and he basically said i don’t know. We ask if there’s anyway to get it back right now since we’re otw to the ER and he says “you can pay 62.50 in cash right now” we then tell him we don’t have cash on us and it’s upstairs in the apartment, he then says “ok i’ll give you 5 minutes to get it”. My boyfriend runs up stairs an as he gets to the door of the tow truck he speeds away. We call the company and they say we now have to pay 155 and as were in the middle of talking the just hang up. Scam artist who can't show you any signage. Told 155 over the phone than 180 in person ahahahahahahhaa. Not on BBB? Supposedly did everything by law but doesn't accept all form of payment or properly fill out invoices. Never felt so threatened before. Don't worry my money isn't worth people knowing you're terrible. Car started throwing codes after. If day one hire can't properly fill out invoice how can I verify he can even operate tow equipment?
