Parkwood in the Pines (PM)

Lovely facility! My great-grandmother is a resident here and has been for over a year now. The staff is amazing! I live a few hours away from the facility, which limits my visits with her. However, every single time I have surprised her, the staff is consistently kind, thoughtful, and caring, to her and to us. This is from the front desk, housekeeping, their kitchen staff, and especially their selfless caregivers. They really seem to care about their residents. It means the world to me to have that peace of mind. You truly forget you're visiting someone in a nursing home. It's ALWAYS spotless, smells nice, and is just a wonderful environment. I highly recommend them if you ever are in the position of needing more care than you can give to a loved one.

Do NOT take your loved ones here. There are some nurses who very much care about the patients and there are those who act like your bothering them when your family member needs help. My family member was highly sedated and unable to barely eat because of it. He wasnt able to even do therapy. His shirts would be left on for days and his brief not changed. He left there with pneumonia, malnourished and with bed sores. Not one should be treated that way Thank God he's recovering. I can finally see the white of his eyes after a month. I do want to praise the weekend nurses. They were very attentive to him.

My Aunt was there for 6 weeks and she was very impressed by the way she was treated and taken care of. The staff was great and very supportive and caring. The food was good and she had no complaints. I highly recommend that if you need to go to a facility for any reason please call Parkwood in the Pines.

This is a horrible place to have your loved ones. They definitely don't like having patients who's family is involved. They do not care for their patients. They wouldn't shower my mother until we did it ourselves. They threw soiled clothes in her closet with her clean clothes when they were supposed to wash them. My mother would hit her button for assistance and they would not come assist her at all. They made excuses for everything, horrible place!

This 5 star rated facility is beautiful and the Nursing staff is amazing. The therapy team is the best in Lufkin and the care doesn't stop when they successfully rehab home, the Team continues to be available for any future needs. I would highly recommend this facility for your loved ones skilled rehab or long term care needs.
