I wanted to give a huge shout-out to Johnny at the Pep Boys on Rivers Avenue! I brought my car in for some much-needed work on my tires and a few other issues, and I couldn't be happier with the service. Johnny was exceptionally personable from the moment I walked in—he made the whole process easy to understand and took the stress out of the visit. He had my car fixed up and back on the road in no time. It’s rare to find that combination of high-quality work and genuine customer service. I think this location has earned its many 1 star reviews. I Spoke with Bernard initially, he told me to come on by, that they were dead nothing on the lifts. Mind you, I just came for brake pads. I told them that. I waited two + hours for a brake inspection and was presented with a $2,300 quote with a long list of unnecessary work. I told them to just put the wheels back on. I usually shop around and for good reason, I went to your competitor and had pads hung for $370. Not everyone’s a rube. Also, when asked why it took so long for a brake inspection when they “were dead” the mechanic complained that I had “heavy tires”. Classic pep boys…

They can keep their coupons this review is on the house. I went in at my appointment time Ashley was nice even though they opened up 20 mins late. I went in for an oil change and tire patch. It took them 2 1/2 hours to do an oil change and never rotated my tires because the same one I needed patching was left in the original spot. The technician claim that he could not find where the leak was coming from, but I intentionally left the roofing staple and nail in my tire and he just pulled it out and said there was no leak. Please stay away from the Rivers Ave., Pep Boys in North Charleston. I went to Gerald’s today they found my leak and patched my tire and under 30 minutes with no appointment .

I took my 2020 Chevrolet Traverse to Pepboys Rivers ave location to have 2 tires replaced. Now the low pressure light won't go off. I took it back. They said one of the tire sensors was missing. They said they replaced it. The light is still on after driving the 20 miles they said I should drive in order for the light to go off.

Called to get a price on 4 tires 11/28/25, I can't remember the guy that answered the phone name. He was super nice and helpful. I thought I was calling the one in West Ashley, my son went to that location not this one. I called back and let the guy know. He was again very nice. If I remember his name I will update my review.
