25 years ago, I brought in a 1980 Honda Prelude to Pete's for an engine rebuild. They got it done at a reasonable price, but unfortunately I had to let that car go. Unfortunate because I wouldn't be taking it into Pete's anymore. That's until we got a Honda Pilot that needed its 100k maintenance. The stealership wanted $6k for the service. Granted, it's a lot of work: replace the timing belt, drive belt, spark plugs, etc. Pete's got it done for less than half. Pete's even fixed the door ajar sensor (the stealership said it needed to go to a body shop to pound out a dent in the door). I've now had 2 bad experiences from 2 different Honda dealers. Pete has been our family mechanic for over 25 years. I make sure that we buy Hondas or Toyotas so we can have him service them. As a single woman I have complete faith that he’s not ripping me off.
