The situation is: NB Miata only requires 43-75 inch-lb for the valve cover bolts; Rene torqued 8-12 ft lb. That’s the usual torque for other similar models but I’d like to gather some suggestions from public too, to see if this is recommended. My car failed smog at Holiday and I took it to Rene to get the codes fixed. He helped me understand and executed doing only the bare minimum - a valve replacement. My engine oil plan was leaking but I was planning on going out of town for Thanksgiving. Rene got it fixed in 24 hours at a reasonable price and got me back on the road like it never happened! Couldn't ask for better service!
