Rivergate Muffler & Auto Repair

I have not personally used this service but, I took a friend there and my friend was happy. He said that they were thorough and polite and the price was decent. I have some maintenance coming up and planning to go there next week.

I was searching for auto repair companies in Madison and I spoke with Mike concerning repairs needed on my vehicle. He was very knowledgeable about the repairs my classic car needed. The repairs were completed on time and very satisfied with their work. No hidden charges! They also have a great facility. Mike and his staff were great and a pleasure to do business with. Long story short: they’re overpriced. Went down the road and had the same job done for 1/2 the quote rivergate muffler gave me. They also didn’t disclose to me that they charge a fee to give quotes & charged me $80 to give me my keys back. Long story long: I took my truck to rivergate muffler to have a break in the exhaust fixed. I looked at it with their tech and we talked about a straight forward solution. They called me 2 days later with an estimate for $650! I said no thanks and when I picked up my truck I was informed that I’d be charged an $80 diagnostic fee. When I brought it to the attention of the owner that the fee was not disclosed when I dropped off the truck he said he would offer me a free oil change. I told him I didn’t plan to return. Everyone here was super nice and professional. They did a great job fixing my incredibly busted brakes, as well as my front sway bar link. They also filled up my tires and when I got in the car to leave, my AC felt like it was working better too (maybe I imagined that part?)! The best part was that they were super quick and punctual. I told them what time I had to go to work and they made sure I had my car back in plenty of time. I will definitely be back!

I came in desperately needing my car fixed as it is my only means of transportation and I live a while away from school. I was told by two auto shops that it was my catalytic converter so I went to Rivergate Muffler & Auto Repair to get a quote for the repair. I wanted something reasonably priced as I am a graduate student with a tight budget. It was a suggested that I pay for a diagnostic fee and am very happy I listened to them.
