When the windshield of my new truck was dinged by a rock and then spider webbed out I was of course bummed. I knew that not just any glass replacement service would be able to handle the technology involved with newer vehicles. I was pleasantly surprised when I spoke with the Safelite representative on the phone. She was able to find my insurance information, get me scheduled quickly and efficiently. The day of the appointment I received a reminder call and text. The technicians handled my glass replacement professionally, friendly and had the job done in a little over an hour. I highly recommend Safelite for any auto glass needs.
The team was ready at my appointment time. Everything was done well. Insurance work. I have no idea if the price was above or below average. This place was recommended by my insurance so I assume it was a fair price. I went down the road for coffee during the process. The waiting area is not great for waiting a couple of hours but some coffee shops near by.
Not sure if it is all the repairs shop fault but my expectation of a repair shop is to look after my interests, offer me options, and communicate what those options are with the costs. This repair shop did none of that. Initially replaced the windshield with a non manufactured replacement which they could not calibrate. Previously, they would ask if I wanted a cheaper windshield and had to seek an authorization from the insurance company to do the replacement using the authorized windshield. It costs more due to the sensors embedded in the windshield. So after failing to calibrate the windshield, not mention the extended wait time, to only be sent home with the incorrect windshield and none of the sensors working (plus the exposed wiring behind the rear view mirror-they could not get
Went in for a windshield repair and they were able to schedule me for the same day that I called. Quick, efficient service.
