Last week, my wife's 2012 Chevy Traverse refused to crank. She had the vehicle towed to the closest shop which was Shamrock Auto. They diagnosed the issue as a starter and we paid $800-ish for the repair. Three days later, the Traverse started throwing warning lights... the battery indicator, check engine light, and check battery charging system. In hopes that the issue was somehow connected to the new starter, we returned the car to Shamrock to diagnose. Unfortunately, they diagnosed the issue as the alternator and quoted 700-800. They suggested that I also get a new serpentine belt. With the belt, the total would be 1300.
