Skiba Auto Repair

The most honest mechanic shop I’ve ever worked with. They will even tell you when you’re wasting money on repairs. I’ve referred many friends and family, and Skiba continues to go above and beyond for them as well. They could work on their communication, that could be a bit more timely, but I’d take that any day with the overall service they provide.

I've been bringing my cars to Skiba for 25 years. Recently had $3.5K work done on a 2001 4Runner. They fixed the problems I asked them to look at. A problem with the water pump had been hidden because of a faulty radiator cap. It was stressful to have more work done I wasn't planning on, but kinda have to be prepared for unexpected issues to be found when knowledgeable techs have a look at things. My car runs and handles much better.

I've used Skiba auto several times over the past 4-5 years, on different vehicles, with varying levels of success. The last time they wanted to charge me a hefty diagnostic fee when they could have given me a little information that would have avoided it. I always get the impression that they don't like customers and barely tolerate them. On the plus side, their prices are sometimes a little better than the local competition.

My car was having trouble starting so I took it here after a relative recommended the location. They were helpful on getting my car fixed and were pretty quick. I’d also say they are reasonably priced. They were also willing to give me a ride home, since I live in town. This was super helpful. I was frustrated that they didn’t reach out to me with updates, I had to call to get any details.

Tried to be polite, but gloves off: I came to these guys because family told me they were honest. They did the same repair twice and charged me both times because I was young, inexperienced, and worried about safety. It took me years to pay off as a struggling student. Found out later that the new owners are less awesome than the original owners. I also learned more about cars and and found a new shop that doesn't do any unnecessary repairs (she even talks to me about repairs I can do myself!) So I do not recommend Skiba anymore. (Previous review) Was referred by a family member, gave them a fair try. They did the repair but it was expensive. I've found a different shop with better service who did the same repair a year later, much faster and for a better price. Recommend shopping around
