Southern Powersports

Took jet skies back and forth 4 different times. Was told each time they were lake ready and each time they failed each time. Thousands a dollar later now he says a Yamaha motor that has 18 hours needs to be replaced. Also damaged trailer and said did not do that. I definitely would not recommend this shop.

UPDATE/RESPONSE It had 2 more codes when I picked it up then when I dropped it off, you can’t be serious! You also said it was for sure the alternator, so when you say I told you to replace it then yeah, by your direction I did say to replace it. ALSO-You did not work with the dealership, I DID! I took it to them to get them to diagnose it and they couldn’t figure it out. I have since taken it to another mechanic who found out exactly what you did and it’s concerning. Almost like it was done intentionally so you could rack up charges to claim you were trying to diagnose it. We found the relay you removed 👍. It was a 50$ fix and you stated “it gets expensive trying to diagnose electrical problem” all the while it was not an electrical problem. I’ve never wronged anyone and did not deserve

I brought my CR250 to Southern Powersports to replace the top end, recoat the cylinder, and tune the carburetor. I was told the job would be no more than $1,000, but after a month and a half of waiting, they called and said the bill was $1,485. When I finally got the bike back, it was still running with the same exact problem. I ended up taking it to another mechanic, who told me that the work Southern Powersports claimed to have done was not done correctly. Very disappointing experience — I wasted time and money and still had to pay another shop to fix their mistakes. Would not recommend.

I have now had 2 Polaris Rangers worked on in this shop, and all I can say is THANK YOU! These guys do excellent work at a fair price, provide excellent communication throughout the process, and are extremely easy to work with.

I strongly advise against doing business with Southern Powersports in Granbury, TX. My jetski was held for 3½ months with virtually no communication—after numerous calls and follow‑ups, I rarely received a callback or update. Once they finally returned it, I was unexpectedly charged $1,000 more than the original quote, allegedly for making it “lake-ready.” Despite that, the jetski runs worse than when I dropped it off. The staff’s demeanor was appalling—hostile, rude, and uncooperative. They refused to provide me with my original paperwork, and I had to involve law enforcement just to retrieve what was rightfully mine. If you're considering Southern Powersports for service or repairs, do yourself a favor and go elsewhere—this place is not only unprofessional but also, frankly, sketchy.
