Steve's 51 Repair

I'm on a trip to Alaska from Kentucky. My Kia burns oil. I checked it this morning and it was low so I put a quart of oil in it--accidentally overfilled it. I was panicked. I looked up nearby auto shops and came across Steve's Repair 51. I spoke with Mary Jo and told her my issue. Even though they had a full day, she told me to bring it in and they would have Andy look at it. Andy assured me that since my engine burns oil that I will be fine. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. The dogs are friendly too. Such kind people. It's a family owned business. They don't take advantage of people. If I lived in this area I would absolutely have this auto shop as my go-to for any car trouble.

Finally got my car to Steve's this morning to figure out why my check engine light was on. It's never a good sign when the owner comes out and gets everyone in the waiting and all the mechanics in his shop to gather round and see something you don't see every day and brings the crowd around the hood of MY car. He opens it up and it is densely packed with leaves and nuts. A squirrel made themselves a nice warm home this winter apparently and chewed through every wire under the hood. Photos attached. Very friendly and knowledgeable. We found he comes highly recommended within the community also.

Moved to Edgerton a couple years ago. Hardest part of moving is finding a new trustworthy mechanic. I needed some work done on my wife's van and decided to give Steve's a try. This shop did not disappoint. Honest and fair prices, and they had her car done in less than a day. All the guys there were friendly as could be and at no point did I feel taken advantage of or disrespected (as some other reviews I read may have claimed). I will continue to use and recommend this shop for any vehicle maintenance in the future.

The absolute best around! Honest, upfront, and great to deal with. Heard about Steve’s shop from a neighbor when we moved to town almost 10 years ago, and they were absolutely right on about where to take your car for service. Have had several cars in for various reasons over the years, and have had a great experience every single time! Thanks Steve, and your great crew of mechanics!
