Sun Auto Service

TLDR: 10/10 service, female friendly, ask for Andrew I have never felt safe going into an auto shop by myself as a woman. I have been taken advantage of in the past, so I have always brought men in with me since. I no longer have that fear. Sun Auto is so different. Andrew took such good care of me and my car. He didn't pressure me buy things that were out of my budget. He merely advised me and let me take it from there. Everyone that I talked to in the auto shop was polite and helpful. They were willing to explain everything that I had questions about without any hint of judgement, only care. I cannot recommend this place enough!!!

This review is for shop #4175 on Louis Henna Blvd in Round Rock, TX. The pros: Manager Brandon Luther provided great customer service. He was empathetic and sympathetic regarding my car issues and hefty repair costs. I think he tried to work with me as much as he could on the total cost of everything. This shop provides a shuttle service. This is a perk I appreciate, and it's a reason for my continued patronage of this shop. The cons: the prices are more expensive than the other repair shop I patronize. Every time I bring my car here, they leave obvious grease and/or oil stains on my driver's side floor mat. Very poor service. They offer tire repair services but then refuse to do the work. I know my tires are worn, but I just needed a puncture repaired today. The manager came out, inspected the tire, and because it was very worn, he said nothing could be done and offered to sell me a new tire. When I declined, he left with a very bad attitude. I went to another tire shop, and they fixed my problem in 10 minutes. I think that if you offer a service, you should provide it, especially since I was willing to pay for it.

Brought my car in for a check engine light. I previously was serviced here two months ago, figured it was best to stay here as spark plugs were changed and could have been root cause (this is the only reason I decided to return, after my previous visit in August, I was already inclined to look elsewhere). The root cause was found to be unrelated as it was a non closing EVAP Purge Valve. Two things about this made the trip entirely unsatisfactory. First, to diagnose the issue, the gentleman brought a handheld scanner to the car hooked it up to my car from the driver door and let it run to give the error code. I had a wonderful experience here taking my car in for maintenance. I particularly loved the app they used to share the report. It has pictures and is easy to read. The coupon wasn't working on their site, so they gave me a coupon they had anyways. Very nice folks!!
