NEVER Take your car to this repair shop!!! One and a half years ago, we were on a trip when our car’s brakes started giving off a burning smell. We got worried and called this repair shop. They came out and looked at the car and took it to repair. They claimed the issue was serious and said they had to replace both the pads and the rotors. Instead of just replacing the pads with ceramic pads, they replaced both rotors and pads with new organic pads (which is the worst type of brake pad) and charged us more than $500. After we picked up the car and started driving back to San Jose, the brakes began making a loud squealing noise and it never stopped. Highly recommended!! We were visiting from Illinois and we were having some car issues on our way to Sand Harbor and needed a quick fix. We called around to a few places before and everywhere else was unable to help. The guys at Tanager were able to get us in right away. The receptionist was very helpful in providing directions to the shop and options to keep the kids entertained while we waited. He offered to give us all a ride to the park or wherever we wanted to go. Luckily for us, there wasn’t anything major wrong but they fixed the issue fast and we were able to get back to enjoying Lake Tahoe. Very friendly service and highly knowledgeable!

Do not trust. They changed my car’s original parts without my consent and I noticed when a different shop diagnosed my car!

Jose and crew at Tanager Street Auto are exceptional in their degree of care and concern for the quality of their work. They clearly take great pride in their work and I feel most fortunate to have them maintain all of my vehicles.

This shop is amazing. Courtesy looks at your engine, recommendations for what's next, etc. I had after-market wiring on my headlights that the dealership proposed to fix for $1400. These guys showed me what to order and to bring in just the bulbs at a higher wattage (not the whole casing) and it worked (after checking the Fuses were sufficient to handle the load). Less than $100, and my lights are perfect. I saved $1300 by using them.
