I took my 1996 pickup in for transmission service. First I asked if they could check and adjust the transmission while changing the filter and fluid flush. They explained they "don't do adjustments". I asked if they would "at least make sure everything is in specifications?" I was told they would do that. When I went to pick up the truck, they showed me a video of medal flakes in the bottom of my pan. They suggested that while in the lower 48, I had better replace my transmission right away. I was born at night, just not last night. Metal flakes are absolutely NORMAL to find at the bottom of the transmission pan.
