This place is wonderful and awesome! Being it is independent living allows seniors the opportunity and privilege to continue in a self sustaining and valued way by which they can make their own decisions. The remodeling of the school into 1 or 2 bedroom apartments was done beautifully to accommodate seniors that might need walking aids. They are sharp with new fully equipped kitchens, washing machine and dryer, and spacious rooms. Moving my mom out of an assisted living facilities with the stringent guidelines into The Garfield vastly changed her attitude, improved her emotional health and saved nearly 40-45% of her monies. The Gilmore family are most caring and thoughtful family as owners of The Garfield. Shannon, the sister of the Gilmore brothers, is a thoughtful and gracious manager

The Garfield creates gorgeous living spaces with seniors in mind. The integrity of the historical building adds such interesting architectural flare, and the sense of family there is top notch. The owners advertise that residents will feel like part of a family, but they take that promise above and beyond expectation. Residents may take advantage of many unique programs such as grocery delivery, in-home physical therapy and hospice care, in house activities, outdoor activities on the grounds, and the love and care of a family environment. I moved into the Garfield 2 months ago and I am so happy I made this move. I had really tired of all the things that go with home ownership and decided to "consider" a move. When you own a home it feels like it costs you nothing to live there so why would you move somewhere you have to pay rent. When I began to calculate the real cost of living in my home I owned, I was surprised at how much I was paying.
