The Oaks at Denville

My dad has broken his hip & has dementia. They don't get him up to move as he should be exercised to work his musclesfor recovery (according to my mother witnessing all of this, as she is always there visiting for hours) AND when he needs to go to the bathroom & calls for assistance, it has taken an hour and a half for some one to finally respond to their call for help. 😡

When my dad died, trusted staff entered his room and stole items of value (cash & jewelry items). We reported it to leadership and it was minimized and covered up. Zero communication, no follow up or concern. It’s a known, repeated issue there with senior staff! Also, there’s an employee who preys upon vulnerable elderly with ‘sponsorship opportunities’ constantly pushing predatory donation tactics…asking for tens of $10000s to sponsor a bench or a room by signing over assets…He pressure sells weekly! There were things my father absolutely loved about the place like his friends but I WOULDNT PUT MY DOG in this place! They do not have the best interest of your loved one in mind or even in sight!! It’s predatory and unsafe and management is complicit in these forms of abuse.

My husband and I moved into the Oaks 2 years ago. It has been the best decision. There are so many positive things about The Oaks. We like being close to a vibrant town that we can walk to with many restaurants and shops. Major highways are easily accessible and the town has train and bus service to NYC. The Oaks is also next door to a hospital and close to Morristown Memorial Hospital. The apartments are very well built and extremely quiet. We have also enjoyed the many activities that are available. The staff are wonderful and very responsive. But the best part of moving in has been meeting and getting to know the other residents. It is a wonderful and caring community.

Since my move to independent living at the Oaks 12 years ago, first as a wife, and now as a widow, I have never doubted the wisdom of our choice of home. We at the Oaks have been through storms, COVID, earthquakes, death of those dear to us, and all the other events of life, and through it all the wonderful staff have been with us, making sure we are safe and comfortable. The Oaks is located in the terrific town of Denville, within walking distance of downtown. The facility has a fitness center, library, meeting and concert facilities, areas for cards and games, transportation to doctors, and all I need to live a full, happy life. My privacy is respected and my participation is welcomed. Among the many residents, I have found great friends. We would welcome you here..

The Oaks at Denville has been great to my grandmother. The staff is friendly and always willing to help. Whenever I have questions I can always reach out and know that they will respond immediately with answers. My grandmother is very happy and enjoys the frequent events they do for the residents.
