The Woodlands Retirement Community

Woodlands retirement community in Fairfax Virginia is a superb venue. More like a country club than a retirement community. The amenities and common spaces are luxurious. The food I have sampled is outstanding. The Executive Director Ellen Limburg is knowlegeable and straight forward. Finally the current residents can be counted on to provide a candid positive evaluation of the community.

My mother lived here and I know she enjoyed it very much. She loved having a fully equipped apartment and no longer had to worry about maintaining a large house by herself. She enjoyed the food and friendships she made. Activities were frequent and included trips to restaurants, local events, or interesting guest speakers (just to name a few). When local family visited the Woodlands accommodated special dining requests and seating. I can go on and on here about the many positive qualities of the Woodlands but I don’t want to write a book. There are quite a few retirement community options available in the area but I would not hesitate to choose the Woodlands.

My mother & father moved to the Woodlands in 2009. Unfortunately, my father passed away about 2 years later but my mother lived there until she passed away this past January. She made many friends, participated in lots of activities and outings and had great meals. The staff was wonderful and responsive whenever she needed assistance with anything.

My mom has been a resident for 4 years. She loves the Woodlands. The staff is very friendly and helpful. She raves about the dinners, and most importantly, she has made friends. There are numerous activities, a beautiful outdoor area for croquet and bocce, a putting green, exercise classes, to keep you as busy as you would like to be! My mom is happy!

Relocating to The Woodlands was undoubtedly one of the most rewarding decisions I've made over many years. My family is delighted to see me so happy. I love my apartment and the residents are amazing, warm, interesting and fun. The entire staff is polite, and generous with their help. The food from both the Bistro and Dining room are delicious and offer a wide variety of choices. In addition, there's an outdoor patio available for noon meals, activities and visiting with family, friends or other residents. The well chosen staff are here to please and address you by your name. Nice touch. The community offers a plethora of activities including Bible Study which clearly is my favorite. The TNTC activities are informative, challenging and appropriate for residents who wish to attend
