Toyota Parts

Every time I’ve dealt with this parts department either for a pro customer of mine or for my own personal business they have been ignorant, rude, and acted disinterested in talking to me. They would rather tell you how to do your job and that you’re wrong than try to communicate with you and come to a mutual understanding. They lack knowledge, professionalism, charisma, respect, and good customer service skills. I recommend making the drive to Carson city where each person in the parts department has a brain. Avoid the 3 “professionals” in this department at all costs. You’d have better luck getting good service at an Autozone.

Embarrassing service. I need a replacement key for my spare tire to be able to remove it from the underneath of my LandCruiser. Thought it would be a simple thing for the parts department at Toyota. The parts department told they couldn't figure it out and that I would need to pull my car in to the service bay. Seemed strange for such a simple thing, but I followed their guidance and pulled in to have the service people take a look. A whole team of people came to greet me and get me checked in. Seemed like overkill, but I was happy I would get my key. I watched from the waiting area as person after person looked at my car and moved it around to different areas of the service bay for over an hour. I finally had to get up and go out there to ask them what was happening. They inform

Stopped by to price a replacement remote key. Way too expensive. Bought two new OEM keys off eBay for 1/3rd off the dealership price. With the cutting and programming the two keys at Alpine locks in Reno, the total price for those two new keys was less than half of what Reno Toyota wanted. $160 Vs $420.

The parts and service people are awesome, and very helpful.
