Underriner Hyundai Service

Hyundai Santa Fe started having an engine knock due to a manufacturer issue with the rod bearings- brought it in to Underriner Hyundai for the knock sensor code, then for knock sensor replacement, then again when the knock sensor replacement didn’t work (3 hour drive each time, and they denied us a loaner car every single time). During the last visit they told me they sensed a knock but it “wasn’t bad enough yet” to be covered under warranty. Drove it home yet again. Finally the engine exploded, shooting the rod through the bottom of the block on the interstate on a -40 degree morning leaving me stranded on the road with no heat. Finally, after the engine exploded, Hyundai agreed to cover the engine replacement. Went to pick the car up today, after a few hiccups everything seemed alright

I have been very disappointed with this service department in every aspects. I have been in for one oil change and some work on my rims (which took 3 trips to get completed). Both times they ran over the time I was told it would take by hours. A 30m job usually takes over 2 hours to complete even if you have an appointment. I would not use this place if it was not part of my warrant for the Tucson I purchased last year. I understand if something runs over your estimated time but it is frustrating when it always runs over. And you don't get as much as a sorry or compensation in any way for wasting your time.

I bought a used car that supposedly had only 40k miles on it. I didn’t even have it for a month and now have large oil leaks on my garage floor, AFTER taking it back to their mechanics to fix it. I also have to push in both parking light covers every time I drive it. So not only did they lie about the history of this piece of crap car, they pay their mechanics for doing absolutely nothing, and take advantage of people. They are liars. And I even know the manager personally, Scott Ostrum, and still was treated like this piece of crap car was treated like.
