Valvoline Instant Oil Change

I went in for an oil change and would recommend The Piscataway Location at anytime to any and everyone. The services I have received at this location was above and beyond, The staff was very knowledgeable and patient with information on upcoming services that were needed or recommended on my vehicle. All boxes were checked off when it came to a thorough inspection. Thanks to the tech D and supervisor Wagner, Continue being great at what you do!

The good- They changed my oil without any issues. They were courteous. The not so good- I usually expect to be asked if I want an air filter changed or some other upcharge. Yesterday, when they gave me the total, it was for well over $200. It should have been around $130 (I got the full synthetic). They said, "with the wipers and the air filter, the total is___." I didn't ask for the wipers or filter nor did they ask if I wanted them. Now it's not a huge deal, but they had to remove the charges from the system, which took time. Then they needed to get someone else to bill me. Not the biggest deal, but a pain. Plus, I was questioned in a bit of a condescending tone, "you don't want the air filter?" I am a regular customer at your Piscataway, NJ location and have always trusted your team with my vehicle’s maintenance. Recently, I referred my son to this same location for his first oil change, as I wanted him to have a positive experience with a reputable shop. Before his visit, I explained to him that he only needed a basic oil change and nothing more. I also provided him with the funds based on the quoted price for that service. However, about 30 minutes later, he called me to say that the total cost was significantly higher than expected. It turns out that the representative upsold him an engine flush, which was neither requested nor necessary, as this is a well-maintained vehicle.
