THE ABSOLUTE BEST EXPERIENCE! Javier is such a wonderfully kind and transparent person. I've had an issue with transmission for 2 years and was always quoted about $5k to replace the whole system, which wasn't worth it given the mileage on my car was high. I was fortunately accepted into California's CAP program (of which Ventura Smog Test & Auto Repair are affiliated with) and in two weeks they fixed my transmission issues and it only cost 1/5 of the price I was quoted from other repair shops. I told him my van had failed multiple times and had a problem with high hydrocarbons. I told him my goal was to get approval for the consumer assistance program and have the catalytic converters replaced. He charged me $150 to diagnose my van. He sent me home knowing I had no ride and lived in Carpinteria. I had to take the train home. He calls me and tells me the van failed come pick it up. He recommends that I apply for the consumer assistance program, get approval, come back and he would install some quality magnaflow catalytic converters. I take his advice I get approval for the program and he says okay bring it in and drop it off. I drop it off and take the train home only to get another call from him an hour later telling me he can't do the job because my van won't fit on his dyno.

This is the best place I have ever taken my car. Javier actually cares about keeping your vehicles running their best and your safety. My cars keep running strong and lasting long. As a woman, I've been charged more for car repairs (I know because I've compared this shop to others). It's nice to be able to Trust a mechanic.
