There is always a concern for consumers that are not familiar or uncomfortable with a mechanic’s assessment of a problem. I typically have a national company take care of our fleet. I had a squeaking issue when turning the wheel on a Chevrolet. Three times the vehicle was taken into the company and had two suggestions from the national company. One day it was …it may need struts but not sure if that would solve the problem. The second opinion on the same issue , two weeks later is that it may need the rack and pinion replaced. Neither service was performed by them. They suggested that I take it to a GM dealer , get a diagnostic and come back. Since I do not like any sounds or issues with our vehicles and frustrated with their guessing. I am happy that I did bring it to Voss Centervill

I'm a 25 year ASE Master Mechanic, but I got out of the business long ago. My recently purchased 2018 Colorado needed a oil change, I've just gotten too old and stiff to crawl under the truck and change the oil anymore. Now I want a deal and I don't want just anybody working on my truck. When I came across the Voss ad of 6 quarts of full synthetic GM oil, oil filter and tire rotation no appointment oil change deal for $89.99, that's a good deal, I thought it's a dealer they should be able to handle that, right? Well things have changed, it's way different from how I remember it. I was sold a battery with a 12/19 date code in 2023 which they installed that was tested bad today. I went in to warranty it out under the 42 month warranty bringing only the battery as the car wouldn’t start. They informed me that it had to be in the car. They refused to pay for a tow because the car wouldn’t start and said it was not their problem. I jumped the battery and drove the car in at which they told me they would have to charge me $70 to test the battery(a free service at any parts store even if your battery isn’t from that parts store). I was instantly confused as this was the most absurd thing I’d ever heard but Greg assured me this is typical GM policy. At which I refused because the battery is UNDER WARRANTY and I had the receipt in hand as well as had the battery tested bad

Everyone treated pretty poorly, I am 21 so I'm younger but that is no excuse to treat me like I am a nuisance. Not to mention I showed up to my oil change 10 minutes early to my 9am appointment. To which I was given no instructions on what to do when I arrived so I sat in the parking lot until I called the front desk and asked how to get in the service door. I got in, everyone looked at me like I wasn't supposed to be there, before someone came up to me and got my car from me who didn't seem super thrilled with me. I had to get my vehicle serviced at Voss Chevrolet dealership for a few issues that had been found by the service technician, while fixing the two issues that were already found there was another issue discovered, immediately my advisor (Sandi Fairband) came in the waiting room and explained what had been found we discussed what I wanted to do and I decided to have the new issue fixed also.
