As a person who likes to detail his own cars I can be particular who washes my vehicles. Skokie has many hand wash facilities but one stands out the most, Wash Depot. Their consistency for cleaning has stepped up to another level. They ha e found a crew to respect their commitment for service. The managers are pleasant and DO NOT oversell or lower their standards for "outside only". If dealerships use them to detail their vehicles that speaks volumes of the business. First time at the Wash Depot. The owner (or manager) was friendly and welcoming. However, for $32 and 30-45 minutes of total cleaning time I expected better quality control and drying. Interior cleaning was good. They missed a number of spots lower on my bumper and then there were a number of water spots. I called out a few but needed to go. It’s an acceptable wash but I can’t rationalize the time spent when there are other places who are cheaper, equal or better clean at a fraction of the time.

It's $37 a car. You can tip with cash or card. There's not much seating, so you'll mostly be standing for 45 minutes. There is a TV to watch. I like it, but other places offer similar services for under $25 in the same area. The manager's a nice guy.

Was a satisfied customer for years, then they went downhill under new owners. Now a completely new owner has taken over. Very, very well done, better than before. Spotless. Yes it takes a while (bring something to read) and perhaps there are those who might find the price a bit too much, but no more than a good haircut. But just as satisfying. Plus, they brought back the punch card for a free wash after five washes. I'm going back.
