I recently had rear gears and an upgraded diff installed on my Mustang and couldn't be happier with the experience at ATD. The team did a truly professional job from start to finish. They kept the old diff, ring gear and pinion and returned the parts to me, per my request. Communication was also top-notch. They kept me informed about the timeline throughout the whole process, so I never felt left in the dark. It's rare to find a shop that combines quality craftsmanship with great customer service, but these guys nailed both. When a shop has a chance to hit you hard in the pocketbook but then tells you it has a plan that might save you thousands, you know you are dealing with honest people who care about the customer. I took my 2017 Cadillac CT6 to them on a Monday after the torque converter started occasionally making a rumble sound. I fully expected I would be looking at a huge bill to replace the converter but Scott at Automatic Transmission Design thoroughly checked the car out and told me the rumble was so weak and my total miles so low (only 26,500) that a simple drain and fill might take care of the problem. The guys rebuilt the 3 speed O.D. Trans in my 1955 Thunderbird. Yes, it was expensive. Yes, parts were hard to find. But they did an excellent job. It has never shifted so good. Up shifts and smooth and down shifting into the non-syncro first gear is no problem. This is the 2nd trans they have done for me, the first one being a AMC 727 Torqueflite and if I ever have a transmission problem again, this is were I will be going.

I will recommend these guys to ANYONE who needs transmission work done. They're busy, so you might have to wait, but there is a very good reason for them to be busy. They kept me informed about the work they were doing, and let me know as soon as my truck was ready. Here I am, 2 years later, I thought I was having issues with my transmission again. We set an appointment, they looked at, and gave me a good lead on what the issue might be, after it turned out to not be the transmission.
