Avis Car Rental

Literally my worst car rental experience. Scammed out of $30. Some places are just unorganized. This feels like they try to nickle and dime everybody. Rented a car for one day, 46 miles. $50 total. I put 1.5 gallons of gas and returned it. They said it needed more. So I went to gas station, $5 more dollars. No gas gauge movement. $5 more dollars and no gas gauge movement. So I took it back again and told them something was wrong with the gas gauge. The counter person left, came back, and said I was good to go. (I paid an extra 10 dollars and 30 minutes of gas and time due to their malfunctioning equipment.) THEN, the charge hits my account. I was charged almost $20 MORE dollars for a gas fee that is charged for trips under 75 miles (which was not explained at checkin.). IF THIS IS TRUE

We travel a lot, often getting rental cars, and both times we've used this store they've been wonderful. Literally the only place without a million hidden fees and high pressure upgrades. Very friendly employees and the cars have been great. Thank you!

My husband rented a vehicle from this facility, I went with him to pick him up and return the vehicle. He rented the vehicle from online from their website and had reserved a traverse or the option was something similar he also paid for it in advance. This was 2-3 weeks in advance the time comes to pick up the vehicle he ordered, my husband spoke with an associate and he says there is no 3rd row suv available, however he could rent a mini van, which ended up being a Pacifica Chrysler, the trip was the following day to which my husband called me while I was outside with our children waiting to give me the news. Of course, I was NOT excited 😒 to be in a mini van, I told him to get a suv from elsewhere and to get the money back. However, he convinced me to give it a try as we were out of time

Never visit this location. I have rented a car from here and when I try to extend the car or change the drop off location the app didn’t allow me to do. I have taken cars from Avis at multiple locations but no one was like this. When I called them to ask about this the guy who answered the call was very rude and arrogant. Instead of answering he is yelling at me. He didn’t even ready to listen what I was asking. Worst experience ever. Don’t get fooled by fake reviews on here saying it’s good.

I’f I could give this location a negative 1,000 I would happily do so. I’ve rented from Avis for years and have become accustomed to their vehicle standard. This location does not meet the Avis standard. My rental car was previously smoked in, the front end shook at 50mph and the steering wheel sounded like crushing metal when turning, not to mention the cosmetic damage to the vehicle. I had to exchange the vehicle at O’Hare Airport. When arriving at Avis O’Hare, they thought it was my vehicle and not theirs. They could not believe that someone rented the vehicle to me. When returning returning the exchanged vehicle and explaining the inconvenience they caused me, the rep had nothing to say, no apology or anything.
