Avis Car Rental

I booked my car 7 days in advance and arrived at the location exactly at my scheduled pickup time. Instead of honoring my confirmed reservation, the staff member demanded additional money that was never disclosed during booking. When I refused to pay the extra charges, the staff member behaved in a completely unprofessional manner and told me, “The exit is that way,” implying I should leave. This is unacceptable behavior toward any customer—especially toward a Presidential Member. I have been using Avis consistently for the past 3 years, hold Presidential status, and booked using my valid corporate discount with a corporate card. Is this Avis or Turo. Because the car was very much not in good shape. The first thing I noticed when I took before pictures was that the paint job was bad on the gas tank part. Also there was oil change stickers that was expired and the inside console was dirty and had leftover residue and the car had looked like an animal was in it. Also, the tank was on a fourth of a tank when I received it so I immediately had to get gas, which was inconvenient. It gave a reminder that the oil change needed to be done within 200 miles I’ve drove the car over 200 miles for the weekend and it constantly was sending me warning Signs that the oil was low and needed service and the car was driving like it too . The customer service agent was nice though.

This was hands down one of the worst rental car experiences I have ever had. I had a confirmed reservation at this Avis location, yet when I arrived, I was told there were no vehicles available. I had already taken an Uber to the location, and after being told they would call me once a car became available, I was forced to take another Lyft back home and wait for them to call which never happened, so I returned. It took nearly THREE HOURS before I was finally given a vehicle after the reservation time. Because of this delay, I missed an event I had purchased tickets for, resulting in money completely wasted and having to spend even more money on a second option. Avis customer service showed zero accountability for this situation. When I finally received a vehicle, it was clearly unsafe.

Do not rent from Avis or this location! I have been renting vehicles for over 30 years from all of the major rental companies including Avis and never have I been given a vehicle in such poor condition or experience the level unprofessionalism and disrespect from a employee named Richard at this location. I should have looked at the reviews prior to renting here. I too was given a vehicle with all the signal warning lights on scratches on the vehicle with X marked on spots where there were damages. I’m appalled that Avis would even rent cars like this and put customers safety at risk. When I tried to call the location to advise them no one answered the phone. I’ve been renting at this location for quite some time and the service never gets better. This is the last time. I booked a reservation two weeks in advance and they waited 30 mins before my pickup time to tell me they didn’t have the car available and couldn’t do anything for me. I spoke to a supervisor and still nothing was done.
