Avis Car Rental

My rental price was originally $212 plus 200 deposit thats refundable. I was pushing time due to being stuck on interstate so contacted them by phone and told i wouldnt be charged extra if the vehicle was returned the within 90minute window which i did. The next day they tried to bill the crap out of me for $818.52 which included a $450 smoke fee (when I dont even smoke), a 15% surcharge fee of $97.57, a confession recovery fee of $70.46 and charged $38.49 when I brought the vehicle back with nearly 50 more miles left to E then when I picked it up to begin with! After contacting them directly they did verify that these were all wrongful charges that needed be removed and address the issue. If it was not for help when calling the 800 number they would have screwed me out of over $500.. Ill

I have never had a worse experience with a car rental service in my life. I completely booked a car online, but upon arrival I was given an electric vehicle (EV) with no information about it at all. No one explained that it takes 10 hours for the fastest level of charging available. I’m literally stuck in a parking lot writing this review on my “weekend getaway” charging an EV until 6:00 am. Even if I was able to drive it back, according to the paperwork they ask you to sign without any explanation, it states if you don’t bring the vehicle back with at least a 10% charge or more you’ll be charged an additional $70. Gave them my confirmation number the agent said that they didn't have the confirmation I showed her the letter. She said she couldn't find it.. it ended up costing more the fun part is it happened to the guy right behind me that gives me a clue that there might be a bigger problem I'll call corporate I'm sure they'll fix it

I reserved my rental a month before picking it up with my chime visa debit card. They happily accepted my money for that, the day of my trip I come to pickup and the lady tells me they don’t accept chime. I say why? It’s a visa and a recognized bank and I used this to reserve my car, she tells me she couldn’t help me and I’d have to go open a new bank account and hope they give me a card that day, I had no choice but to cancel my trip.

Terrible experience. Reserved a car ahead of time. I was first in line and took counter person over 25 min just to complete my documents (I am already in the Avis system) because she did not know how to work the computer. She ran my credit card so many times my CC company flagged it as fraudulent. Counter person could not explain one of the "Optional Services" she added and she did not know how to remove it (part of why she kept running my credit card tying to re-do the agreement). So I was stuck paying for something I didn't need, as I did not have further time to wait and had to get to a meeting. The car I got was awful - dirty, not cleaned. Would recommend another brand at this airport.
