Avis Car Rental

When we arrived to pick up our prepaid rental, we discovered there were no cars. We were joined in our outrage by another prepaid renter who reached out to a local Enterprise site and we were both able to secure rentals. Our trip was something of an emergency trip home to another state Enterprise saved the day, Avis should be ashamed especially by the cavalier attitude of counter staff who seem annoyed by our incredulity.

Renting at this Avis location was the worst experience I’ve had with any car rental. The cashier blatantly over charged me, billing me for 200 when my printed receipt said 50 and then claiming she had nothing to do with my charges. I only rented the cheapest car for 24 hours. When I called asking for reimbursement she was extremely disrespectful and refused to give me her name or employee ID. Do not rent here.

If only zero stars was an option… live on Martha’s Vineyard, booked a res, took the ferry over, and got there. Said the car I booked wasn’t available and the only thing I could get was for $300 just for a ONE DAY rental. Refused to try and help figure it out, flat out rude and disrespectful. Commuting with the ferries and buses just to try and get a rental that doesn’t even exist. Never again will I go there and I highly do NOT recommend. Waste of time and space.

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!! Our group made two separate reservations and received printed receipts from the Falmouth Avis from Aneera each for $50.81. However, when we checked our credit card statements, we were charged $216 and $200 respectively (excluding the refundable $200 deposit). This is blatant fraud and is inexcusable.

Worst experience I have ever had with a company - ANY COMPANY. Living on Martha's Vineyard makes commuting difficult, especially in the summer when it's difficult to get a vehicle reservation. I have rented from every car rental company in the area, and only had great experiences. I had heard positive things about Avis and thought I would give them a try due to the convenience of being located in the Palmer Avenue Parking lot. I went online and booked my reservation, called the company the day before to ensure that everything was in place and that a vehicle would be ready to pick up.
