Avis Car Rental

Reserved a car a this location 3 months early, and when I arrived at the rental desk after retrieving my luggage I was greeted with a line 7 people deep with 0 cars available for any of us. This was at ~10pm and the only response the agent had for us was that we would need to wait for cars to be returned before they had more. Avis Plus member and have been using Avis for 20 years. I'm incredibly disappointed. It's trivial to determine that this would have been a problem, and Avis should have been proactive about informing me and finding a solution.

When I was stressing after another company lost my reservation I was fortunate enough to get a lady named Sandra from Avis in GREENVILLE on the line. She told me that due to the extreme business on the holiday week she couldn’t find me a car- forget it - but call her 8 am the next day and she would work furiously to find me one. At 9am I heard from saying “it’s not the compact you wanted but it’s good on gas and ready to roll”. That kind of service is very rare and very appreciated.

No one at budget (upstairs) at Greenville SC airport so I had to go to Avis counter (downstairs). Was quoted one price for extra liability. The man at Avis was like it is only $13 more. I have insurance but for that amount - no problem. They actually charged me $34 dollars. Car was not filled up with gas. I returned car with more gas and was later charged to fill tank. $54. I now have to fight it. I took pictures right after getting car and dropping off car to show mileage. So I have the evidence. I picked up car after 6 pm and then returned car less than 24 hours later (5:40 pm) but 1 1/2 hours later than my 4 pm return time. Office in Columbus GA airport closed at 5:30 pm (pursuant to a note on the counter) though states online it closes at 6 pm and agent at budget states 1

Everything was fine until we tried to return the car. My wife refilled before returning, but they still wanted to charge for the tank not being full. Is she supposed to push the car back after refilling? You're now losing future local business over $1 worth of gas. Great management decision.

Ive always had a great experience with Budget. I rent with Budget not Avis which is combined with Budget. The staff are great and welcoming. Im a repeat customer and always treated well. Thank you Budget on Woodruff Road in Greenville South Carolina!!
