Baker Auto / Lacy's Alignment

After talking to Jr (not sure if he is the owner/shop mgr) and another employee... I get the sense that this is one of those genuine auto repair shops. Nestled just outside the Charlotte stadium, odd but a perfect location. Once you walk in, you get that 'Oh yeah... this is the joint. I'm certain they can fix it!'!!!

JR saved my car a few months ago! My car started doing this weird thing while I was driving. It felt really unsafe but no lights were on. I took It to Firestone first because it was closest to where I was. They told me that it was being caused by uneven tread on my back tires, so I bought new tires. They didn’t tell me until after I paid that they were not actually able to recreate the problem. It wasn’t the tires. I took it to the Subaru dealership next and they claimed to have driven it and also were not able to recreate the problem. I felt like I was going crazy at this point because it was happening every time I drove and now two mechanics had told me that they didn’t experience it. I found these guys when I had had it with Woodie's Auto (never use them!) and BMW. I knew they dealt with luxury brands (even my old 2006 clunker) and the intricacies of such engines, parts etc. But boy did they surprise and impress me not only with their wealth of knowledge but also lovely demeanor and very fair diagnoses. You will always get the truth and you can feel confident that they will always tell you what needs to happen asap and what can wait. Very fair prices and just a great find in Charlotte!

The team at Baker Auto really went above and beyond to diagnose and remedy an issue with my Mercedes that was missed by a prior shop tasked with looking for a strange noise. JR and his husband/wife team and staff were communicative, knowledgeable, and personable. I went there while having troubles passing through Charlotte but specifically went back to them and will continue to do so in the future due to really trusting that their expertise and customer care comes before profit

My drivers side window fell inside my door 3 months ago. They charged me $700 to fix it. I wouldn't have paid but the diagnostics were already over $200.. so I was already in the hole and had no choice. My passenger side has now done the same thing, same issue, and it is only $530 to fix. Marcelo's Automotive in Monroe. Make the drive out of Southend. Save yourself $170 :-) Not to mention the receptionist was rude as hell and gave me a very large attitude when I asked why the diagnostics were double what i've ever been charged anywhere else.
