Belmont Watertown Transmissions

Even before I get into my own review, I'd like to remind the reader: it's quite rare to find an auto shop with a high rating. Belmont Watertown Transmissions came highly recommended by my neighbors, and I'm so glad I trusted Tina and the crew with my car. They fixed up my completely dead car and charged a great price. They were responsive, transparent, and so kind. I love that there is a local shop I can trust. Cannot recommend more!

I bought a 20 year old Toyota Highlander with over 175,000 miles on it in great shape. The transmission needed work since it stuttered a bit between second and third. Belmont made the transmission hum and found and fixed a few other things that needed attention. The price was lower than I expected. I now have a car that will go for another 175,000 miles.

I found this place when I had a car in need of a transmission, and they replaced it and at the time everything was gravy. Cool, I would go here for a TTRANSMISSION ONLY. My opinion outside of transmissions, go spend your money somewhere else, I had a misfiring cylinder which ended up clogging my catalytic converter which caused my car to run like crap. They fixed the cylinder for a pretty penny, wouldn't touch the cat for under another 2 grand saying it wasn't related to the misfire. They were the ones to diagnose why my car wasn't running. I ended up buying an amazon cat replacement for pennies on their dollar and the car was fine after that. Fast forward to my recent car, I needed two front struts when I bought it and I had this place do the work. They put these struts in June 2025. Its

I recently bought a (replacement) van (Ford E350) which I use when I'm out on tour with a group of musicians. Only three months into ownership I got the bad news that my radiator busted and ruined my transmission, needing to replace both. This was less than a week prior to starting an eleven day- nine gig tour. I made an appointment at Belmont Watertown and they got me in as quickly as they could. I needed than van by Wednesday at the latest, they stayed late and got it back to me on Tuesday! I drove that van for over 3000 miles in those eleven days, throughout Ma, CT, NJ and NY. It ran like a charm! I would recommend them to anyone looking for transmission work. That they understood my situation and made the extra effort to get it done ASAP makes me a lifelong fan!
