Budget Car Rental

If I could give fewer stars, I would. I landed at Norfolk International Airport just after midnight and went directly to the Budget rental desk as planned. I had pre booked a Cadillac Escalade and paid a significant premium for a Luxury Premium Elite SUV, as I am in town on business. I was assisted by a Budget employee named Sequoia, who informed me that they did not have a Cadillac Escalade and stated that they have not had one in their fleet for over six months. If that is the case, Budget should not be advertising or accepting reservations for this vehicle class. Because it was the end of her shift, she rushed the transaction and attempted to place us in another vehicle. If I could give this zero stars I would. I travel weekly and this was the worst experience ever. To say it was understaffed is an understatement. We waited an hour along with all the people you will see in my videos. They take your name and call you up to the desk. They upgraded us to a vehicle just under the size of a bus when we asked for a small SUV and to top it off one of the tires was very low and it was filthy. I have to say Budget and Avis AWFUL. The other 2 car rental companies were getting people through very quick. Awful experience.

Wow, their reviews just keep getting worse... Here's why. I rented a compact for one day for $36. I returned it the next day, to the same garage at the same airport, but at the entrance of the garage were two Budget employees. They directed me to the third floor (pick up the previous day was on the -1 floor). There was a coned area on the 3rd level that you could pull into but not exit, except on foot. This is where they directed me to return the vehicle. A few days later I reviewed my travel receipt to business expense it, and they charged me a $90 improper location return fee. I reached out to customer support and their automatic reply displayed the case number, but I never received a response. I then disputed the $90 charge with my credit card issuer and noted the case number, and they

I have attempted to resolve unauthorized charges four different times. I have been told by 2-3 representatives that I would receive a refund within 5-7 business days. I have not received a refund. I specifically indicated that I would refuel the vehicle myself and was charged $37.55 for fuel. I returned it with a full tank. I was supposed to receive a business discount and never did. I had an upgrade charge for the vehicle when it was not my fault that they did not have. My original quote was 249.94 and I was charged $566.22. I did add an extra day to the rental and was told by the rep that it would be an additional $105. Turns out that changed my entire base rate to that amount and no where did they disclose that! This last time I called they indicated that I would be getting a $146.99

Quite disappointed with budget for this particular trip. Fortunately the folks on the receiving end in Norfolk were gracious and wave the exorbitant relocation fees that were hidden in the original quote. A $500 relocation fee because we drove the car from fort Lauderdale to Norfolk, what kind of stupidity is that other than just price gouging. I'll also say that people running the car rental places in Fort Lauderdale or anything but friendly. They really border on arrogant and rude for the most part. This is not the people at the service desk this is the people out in the parking lot getting you to your car.
