Budget Truck Rental

Would give negative starts if possible. Reserved a 26‑ft truck with Budget weeks in advance, confirmed the reservation the morning of, drove an hour and a half to pick it up… and was told there were no trucks available. No call, no warning, no attempt to fix the situation. Customer service was even worse. I was transferred to outsourced agents who could barely communicate the basics. One representative hung up on me while I was trying to figure out how to get a truck, and the next person told me it could take up to two hours before anyone contacted me—on the very day I was supposed to move. Zero help. Zero urgency. Zero accountability. I do not recommend Budget to anyone. We went to U‑Haul the same day and immediately got the truck and trailer we needed at a better price with no hassle.

Horrible experience! We booked a reservation online and I called two days earlier to ask if the dolly was available. The lady said no its broken then she said I have a car carrier which I would have to pay extra for. Ok so then the next I call again to confirm the truck is also available. They guy says no for the day that i booked it for but he has two today. So I rushed over drove an hour and he tells me its not available. We tried to ask for a bigger one too even for the next day. On top of all this, they have the audacity to be rude and disrespectful. They did no even try to offer help just brushed us off. We are moving out of state and booked this a week prior. Ridiculous!! I’m thoroughly disappointed with my experience at Budget Rental in Bloomington. I reserved a moving truck three days in advance and received confirmation via email that a truck would be ready for my move. I arrived 10 minutes early on the day of the rental, only to be told that all trucks had already been given out. There was no prior notice, no apology, and no attempt to make things right. This experience has been a serious inconvenience and reflects a complete lack of professionalism and respect for customer commitments. I will not be using Budget Rental again and would strongly advise others to explore more reliable options. At this point, I think loading my boxes and furniture on my back Death Stranding-style would have been more dependable.

Everything that the one star reviews say is true. I’d reserved a 16 ft truck over a week in advance. When we showed up to pick up the truck they only had12 ft trucks available. They gave us no notice that they were not going to have the truck we had reserved. There were also three other people who had reserved 16 ft trucks in front of us that had the same problem. I would never do business with them.

This place runs a classic bait-and-switch scam operation. I reserved a car to visit my family for Thanksgiving and when I showed up, they first tried to claim the car I reserved was unavailable and upcharge me for a more expensive car, then Debbie became extremely unprofessional and refused to rent to me at all after I called customer service and secured a refund bringing my rental total down to the original price. I checked online on their website and the car I reserved (and they claimed they didn’t have) is currently available to reserve for today for $10 LESS than the original price I had reserved it for. And plenty of small cars just sitting in the lot!
