ANYONE LOOKING FOR A SILVERROCK ESTIMATE, READ THIS. Will not be returning here. I did not get to experience any actual mechanic experience but if you are going because this place is listed as a silverrock preferred facility, find somewhere else to go. I went over a month ago and got an estimate done and they said they will get it to silverrock. I gave them a month because I wasnt sure how long it normally takes to hear back. After a month I called and asked for an update where they said they will look into it and get right back to me, asked for a call back number and never called back. I then called a few days later and same exact BS except this time they said "can I get a good call back number, im going to go up to the main office and will call you right back" never called back. This is really a zero rating. On 11/10/2025, I took my 2017 Buick Encore (74809milage) in to Car-X #1749 Ames Iowa. I wanted an oil change. The store manager Daniel Warren informed me that I needed a valve cover and gasket. I paid $535.81. On 11/23/25 I was heading on HW 30 just started exiting onto HW 380 and my engine light came on.. Losing pressure. If was a dangerous exit onto HW380 and extremely grateful to having avoided an accident. Damn right frightening I had to have my car towed and called Car-X. They ask me to tow it back to Ames $700 + to tow. What a joke. Im not taking my car back to a crappy workmanship. I stayed overnight in Cedar Rapids $146 towing and Comfort Inn $156.64 and a repair bill $655.28. I am beyond pissed. I can't get CAR- X to do the right tbing, to respo

I needed my wipers realigned on short notice, Ethan told me to come in and he could take a look at it. He got it all done and fixed quickly and didn’t charge me. Would recommend.

Went in to replace a flat tire. Did not catch his name, but he said he was able to patch up the old one at no cost for me. Genuinely one of the best experiences I have had as a customer. Quick service as well.

After running some errands, I noticed a nail in my tire, I tried going to a different place to see if I could get it fixed there but they were super busy and didn't have time, plus the lady had no idea what she was talking about, telling me the nail was in my sidewall and it wasn't a guarantee that it could be fixed. I saw CarX was open and figured I would try to see if maybe they could squeeze me in really quick, as this just happened a little before 6pm tonight. I came in asking if I could have my tire patched and how much it would cost me. The guy who helped me (Didn't catch a name) was super nice and sweet and said if it wasn't anything major, then it wouldn't cost me anything.
