Downloaded the app, entered my VIN, got the best offer around, by far, a tow truck and really nice driver showed up the next day, handed me a cashier's check and that was that. The easiest (and most unexpected!) car selling experience I've ever had. I had heard some not so great Carmax stories, but I cannot recommend them more highly.

I had no idea it could be this easy to sell a used car. No bait-and-switch, no low-ball tactics. Up front offer and incredibly streamlined process. Everyone was friendly and helpful - they even take care of all the DMV paperwork, and you leave with a check for a very fair price for your vehicle. I would recommend Carmax to anyone who wants to sell their used car.

The appraisal process was very fast and convenient, and there was no inspection fee, which I appreciated. However, the purchase offer was extremely low and not fair. I eventually sold my car elsewhere for nearly three times their offered price.
