C.A.R.S. Auto Repair Service

I will not be returning. My sister had her oil changed here and when I was changing her oil myself later, I had to use a breaker bar to remove the drain plug. That is completely unacceptable. The torque specification is about 30 ft lbs. There is no reason a drain plug should be tightened to the point that a breaker bar is required. Overtightening a drain plug on an aluminum oil pan can easily strip threads and cause expensive damage. This is basic service work and should be done correctly every time. It shows a lack of proper torque procedure and attention to detail. If something this simple is done incorrectly, it makes me question what else is being rushed or over tightened. I expect professional standards from a repair facility. This did not meet that standard.

I have yet to ever leave a negative review on Google. It has to really irk me. But alas, here we are. I called this week to see when the earliest they could service my van would be and I’ve never in my life had a place answer so rudely. I do not care how busy you are - your customer service matters. We were looking at what we believed would be a well over thousand dollar fix and our biggest concern was *would it be done by Christmas* - we have kids and parties! But even amidst MY time crunch, I was not rude. I was simply inquiring. Whoever answered said (barely coherently and extremely fast “Thursday or Friday”) and then I said “Okay, let me try to figure out if that will work” (aka see if my husband wanted to wait that long or try to find another) and the man said “bye” and hung up on me

Scott at C.A.R.S. did an excellent job explaining the issue I was having with my car. I had a rather extensive engine catastrophe and got four different quotes, but ultimately chose CARS because of the expertise Scott gave me over the phone. He explained it to me in a way that made sense and outlined the potential risks and some other factors I didn’t think of if I moved forward with the repair. Until this issue, I had no idea how many local repair shops there were in the area. Now I know there is only one 😉

Had a great first time experience for an unplanned break repair. The communication and follow up was good and included phone calls and a text message system. Pricing also was good based on other repair work.
