Don't do business with Stephen Bell. Stay as far away from him as possible. I took my 59 Porsche 356 to have them consign it. He wanted to do an inspection on it to value it. His valuation was $25,000 less than an appraisal I had done it few months earlier. When I told him that the price was too low he sent me a consignment agreement with a higher price and a commission rate that was higher than what he originally told me. I told him it wasn't going to work out and I wanted to pick up my car. That was on December 15th. It's It's January 6th and I just got my car back. He said that he was the only one that could release my car to me. I guess he doesn't trust his employees to do that. I had to pay him $320 for the "inspection" which he never said would cost anything and would only take cash

I bought a vintage Ferrari that they had "restored" for a previous owner, with the restoration conducted less than 10 years ago. Not long after I bought the car (less than 100 miles), found many problems that came up, and upon taking it to renowned experts/specialists, resulted in significant costs and pointed out many issues with the "restoration". These guys appear to know nothing about proper restoration, both mechanically and cosmetically. Their mechanical work is shoddy and basically slapping band aids on problems (as an example, instead of doing a proper repair, they just duct taped and spray painted over the problem areas) and cosmetically their paint work does not hold up. I recently purchased a classic Jag XK-150 from Stephen Bell at Classic Investments. I give him top marks, 5 stars. He is a straight shooter, patient, responsive, very knowledgeable, and always answered my questions completely. Most of all, the car has exceeded my expectations both mechanically and cosmetically.

I was interested in a vehicle I found for sale on the Classic Investments website, and called to speak to Stephen to ask a few more questions. He promptly provided me the additional photos and the information I requested. Trusting the pictures and description, I paid for the vehicle and Stephen agreed to hold it until a weather window (it was March) would permit me to drive to Denver with my trailer to pick it up. Once there, the remaining paperwork was handled quickly and Stephen assisted me in loading it on my trailer. The vehicle was exactly as described, and I am very pleased with it. I also got a tour of the workshop while I was there and saw a variety of cars in for service and restoration. Overall, a very smooth transaction, thanks!
