Cocoa Hyundai Service Department

I've had two service appointments performed at this location. The receptionists are very friendly. Everything else falls in the category of a typical dealer service department - oversell and overcharge. The first dealing with them, they quoted me a brake job for 37% more than what I ended up paying a local mechanic. The second service was just for an oil change. Their service inspection recommended a cabin air filter ($90) and an engine air filter ($73). Both of which I had just changed myself within the last 2000 miles! Completely unnecessary attempt to scam a few bucks! If I can't trust a business with the little things, then I'm done dealing with them. It truly pains me to write this 1-star review, because the front office staff and management were courteous and professional throughout the entire experience. However, the severity of the service oversight demands attention. I recently brought in my 2021 Hyundai Sonata for a scheduled transmission fluid service, based on mileage and Hyundai's recommendations. The work was completed quickly, and they also diagnosed a failing battery during inspection, which I authorized them to replace. Thankfully, what saved my transmission was pure luck. That same day, I went to a different shop to have my brakes done, and while the car was on their lift, they noticed a transmission fluid leak — from the system just serviced hours earlier at Cocoa Hyundai. Went for my free oil change for my vehicle. The service department recommended that I get my starter changed at a price of roughly $1500. I told them no thanks, when my oil change was done my car mysteriously wouldn’t start. My car was running totally fine before this. They pushed my car out of the bay and refused to assist me in starting the car, their employees just sat there and watched as I continued to hit the starter. Once I got the car started I parked and went inside to talk to the service manager, who simply said we recommended a fix and you decided not to take it so we aren’t liable for your car starting. Mind you I drove my car there that morning and had no issues prior. Long story short this place is a total scam, I just replaced the starter myself for $200. They clearly do

I got an appointment within 24 hours of my first call. Courtney is an excellent service advisor. The only thing that I didn’t like was the cost to diagnose the window problem. I can understand why there is a charge for diagnostics but I think $130 is too much especially when I pay for the repair.
