Commonwealth Senior Living at Grand Rapids

Our mother has been living at Commonwealth for a little over 6 months now and we really like it. She is comfortable, has an excellent room, and says that she really does like living there. The best part of it all is that I can feel the good vibes and love that are being bestowed onto the residents. The aides really care about what they are doing to help everyone that lives there....from small needs to larger needs. I truly appreciate that I can "really" not worry as much about my mom and her happiness. I know that Commonwealth has our best concerns in mind. Thank you ALL for that because this rodeo takes a village to wrangle and I need all the help that I can get.

I’m deeply upset and disappointed by the treatment my father received at Commonwealth 68th. He lived here for about 6 months, and after multiple issues, we decided to move him to a better home. As a family, we trusted Commonwealth to provide quality care for our dad, but unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected. From the start, we noticed several red flags. There were many wonderful staff members, but over time, it became clear that the facility was wildly understaffed, did not adequately train employees to care for residents with memory impairments, and hired people who did not care. We frequently witnessed neglect, staff members spending significant time on their phones instead of engaging with residents, and my dad often being left in dirty clothes or an unclean room

As a vendor who rounds in numerous facilities in the Grand rapids area, I always enjoy my visits at Commonwealth GR. It is very well kept, residents are happy and they truly have a staff that cares. They have an excellent management team that Includes Jennifer, Tracy, Vicky, Amy at the front desk, Jani, and Irene. Keep up the good work team!

We found that all the healthcare aids that worked with our mother were very sweet and gentle with her. They seem to truly care about her, which made us feel very comfortable. Deja’s quick thinking saved our mom’s life when she had her stroke. So many thanks to all the staff that cared for her!

There are many wonderful things I could say about Commonwealth but I'll keep try and keep my review short. My grandma, who had vascular dementia, lived there for over 3 years and to say they did a wonderful job taking care of her is an understatement. The place was always clean, the staff always friendly and my grandma's needs and wants always met with with far exceeded expectations. Everyone there is always cheery, both residents and staff and you're always greeted with a smile. I would recommend this facility over and over again for family, friends and the like. Thank you Commonwealth for making my grandma's last three years comfortable, fun and relaxing and for making it easy on my family and myself knowing that she was always taken care of and never went without.
