Discovery Village Hoffman Estates

I choose Brookdale/Discovery Village independent living for my 87 yr old Dad based on a referral from A Place For Mom. Denise was super helpful and kind when I did the tour. She answered all my questions and kept in contact with me and reached out multiple times. We corresponded multiple times via email. I'm so glad she did! My Dad called her a few times and she was very patient and returned his calls promptly. Tanya was also super helpful in coordinating move in and explaining/offering us information. Jason has been also been helpful with maintenance and the questions/tech help my Dad has. We used Hollander Storage & Moving in Elk Grove Village for the move. Jimmy, Jose and Tyler were great! Mom has been at Brookdale for about 10 weeks now. While she is sad to leave her home of 68 years, she is pleased with Brookdale. She comments on the friendliness of the other residents, the helpfulness of the staff, excellent physical and occupational therapy and she loves the dining rooms and the food. She looks forward to concerts and activities. She was very pleased with the on site beauty parlor. She is looking forward to spending more time outdoors enjoying the pond and the paved path. The staff communicates well with me. I did my research before moving Mom to Brookdale and the monthly cost is economical as far as independent living and assisted living facilities go.

In 2024 I lost my husband unexpectantly and was living alone and Schenectady, New York. It had stairs I had fallen on twice when my husband was alive. My two children live in Chicago and were afraid of me falling again and getting hurt or getting sick and having no family close by.. My closest siblings were two hours away after looking at Brookdale Hoffman, Estates, and other senior communities near Chicago Illinois, I decided Brookdale would be my new home. During the tour, I saw residence, socializing, and using the amenities. When I moved in, I was greeted warmly by staff and residence. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Many of the residents help my first days be comfortable. I met so many residents and became friends with some. I did not know what to expect and was pleasantly pleased.

This place is amazing. It is a beautiful facility and the people there, both residents and staff, are so friendly. I immediately got a feeling of being welcomed the moment I arrived. I highly recommend this place if you have family that requires special needs for senior living.
