Disgusting and dirty car, longest wait in line. You pay less, but you do get what you pay for here. Would you rent this car? See photos. We paid $250 for 5 days, and I felt filthy even getting into this car.

I rented a car for two days, and after driving only 17 miles the engine light came on. My wife and I attempted to call the local office multiple times, yet no one picked up the phone. What made this worse is that when we drove back to the rental center, there was no line and no customers waiting—so it was clear the staff was simply ignoring the phone. When we asked to exchange the vehicle, the two women at the counter were cold, rude, and completely unprofessional. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, and no attempt to provide any solution beyond handing us keys to another car, which was actually a downgrade from what we originally rented. I rented a car in early January. I was worried when I was reading these horrible reviews while taxiing to our gate. I’m so glad to say that my experience was fantastic, much better than most of these reviews suggest. The shuttle arrived promptly, I was connected with a counter agent quickly, and they had me in my car within about 5 minutes. Meanwhile, when I was looking at the other agencies from the shuttle bus window, the lines were 20+ people deep. The car was in great condition. Drop off was super simple. I was charged as expected. I’ll definitely be using dollar the next time I rent in Lihue. Mahalo!

Unbelievably long counter line with one person working. Worst wait for a rental car ever. Nightmare - longer to get our car than the whole flight from Honolulu. By a long shot. Update: when we returned to the vehicle we made sure the tank was filled up, and I even took a picture of the gauge. They charged us for 3 gallons to top it off at the penalty refuel rate of over seven dollars a gallon. I had to fight with customer service to get them to reverse this fee. This is a scam, and congrats to dollar, I’ll never do business with you again!

A good price point is what brought us here. Unfortunately, the car rental stands across from LIH are no longer in use, so you're forced to jump in the shuttle to an off site property which wasn't too far away. The place was empty when we arrived, so we were in and out in under 10 minutes. The female associate was friendly, quick and didn't try to upsell us on anything. We were offered a Dodge Charger or Nissan Altima, in which we chose the latter as there were 4 of us. We got a 2-year old Altima, very cosmetically worn on the outside and sported 39K miles. The car was fine leaving the lot, but as soon as we took it to and from our hotel in Poipu, the automatic door locks would lock and unlock by themselves, followed by a chime like a Tourette's tick. It got worse when the car went over
