Dr Marv's Transmissions

I have employed Dr. Marv's three times in the last year for work that my regular garage wouldn't do or that the dealer was uncooperative in doing. All three times the work was super, the attitude outstanding and the costs very reasonable. They were very flexible and will continue to be the chosen location to keep my 17 year old vehicle on the road to "Classic" status.

Unfortunately my transfer case broke one night on my way home from work in mid September 2021. I had AAA tow it to a local shop. That guy didn’t have the capability to fix it so he sent it to a well known franchise transmission shop who’s initials are LM. Well LM gave me a quote of $3000 to fix the broken transfer case with a 30 day guarantee! Me not knowing much about cars knew that was a very bad deal. I then reached out to my cousin who works at a Chevrolet dealership (I have a Chevy) to see if I could purchase the part from him. I could but with the supply chain issue, the part wouldn’t be available until mid November (a 2 month wait). I relayed this message to LM and he told me I had to have my car towed back to my house until the part came in. Problem with that is I don’t have drivew

Best Shop in NJ. I needed to get work done on my Transmission. Although I needed to wait a few days to drop car off due to them really being busy it paid off. I dropped car off Wednesday evening picked it up Thursday evening. Took pictures of procedure done on my car and showed me exactly what was broken. I was amazed and grateful for their honesty!! I'd recommend anyone to get work done here any time. Honest Mechanics is tough to find now in days, since most of them only want to dry your wallet out. Plainfield, NJ Edwin G.

These guys are the real deal - I can't say enough good things about this shop. I've taken my 15 year old Mazda to places all over north Jersey but this is my #1 go-to. Unlike other places around, who will absolutely take advantage of customers, these guys do it right and are very reasonably priced. If I could give 6 stars, I would!

I took my car in cause the engine light came on and noise was coming from the mufflers. Mike, the owner took the car and drove around the block then put it on the lift. Immediately, he saw what was the problem which was a O2 plug came lose. He installed a O2 plug and clear engine light and test drive the car again..Sound was gone from muffler and he charge me nothing cause I get all my oil change from the shop. Note: I went to a shop near my job and they wanted to charge me for a new catalyst converter for $1000 with install. It's pays to go back to my honest mechanic..that's very real these days. Fred T.
