Received a good engine, looked with camera in each cylinder upon arrival and all cylinders had great crosshatching, perfect leak down test! Installed engine and is running great so far! Was some shipping damage but luckily not to anything I needed.

Paid way too much money just wanted to exchange it for another motor when I noticed the smash in timing cover opened it to find broken timing gears and they tell you that that's not part that they cover they would rather refund my money then exchanged the engine for one that's not broke??? Terrible business practice go to Spalding's or anywhere else do not give them your money this is the second garbage engines I bought from them???? For the same car even if you're a repeat customer doesn't matter last time i purchase anything from this company !!!

had discussed and agreed beforehand that what we needed for our application was a 4wd/awd engine, and not a 2wd variant they also carry, as the car being swapped is awd. agreed bought and paid for accordingly. what we ended up with anyway was a 2wd variant engine. our person doing the swap was able to succesfully convert this 2wd engine to a 4wd engine, at the cost of an extra $200 in parts and extra $1000 in labor to get there. we now have a good result, but more extra than we had ever wished for on this swap.

Phew, where to start? Before reading, understand that I am a very patient man and very kind to everyone I meet. I treated them as politely as I would to anyone else. I spent almost a week reaching out TO THEM. Most people would have lost it at this point. But I am still trying. As a whole, the engine cost me $970(850 I believe for the engine and the rest for shipping expenses) to get it here to Idaho Falls. I called before ordering an engine to ensure the one that I intended on buying would fit. I asked many a question to make sure, from the mounts to the bell housing bolt holes etc. They even mentioned it would come with a back plate to block off the fuel pump as it would be a different fuel system being that my original engine was fuel injected and the new one had a carburetor.
