Friends House

After visiting many of the senior communities in the area without feeling drawn to any of them, a friend recommend Friends House. It's lovely setting among the trees and its garden cottages made me feel at home. Everyone I met was friendly, the staff generous with their time and happy to answer any questions.

The warmth and care of Friends House staff and residents embodies the Friends beliefs of simplicity, equality, peace and kindnesses. Quaker and non-Quaker residents all share these core values. I was fortunate to attend the ground-breaking decades ago when Friends Association for Services to the Elderly began to create a community excepting of everyone. It remains a rock giving everyone an anchor. With warmth, Betz Miller and my husband Sam Miller, too.

Met with Paddy and Brandy to get an introduction to the community. Spoke with several residents who love the place, the people, and their active lives. I like the non-institutional atmosphere, 'garden' apts. facing green space, 100 fruit trees. My parents are considering Friends House as their new home, and I would support their decision to be here 100 percent.

My mother spent her last years here. They we're some of the happiest years of her life. Wonderful community. Wish there were more like it.

My aunt has lived here for over a decade and loves the place. Interesting residents, lots of interesting activities and a great location.
