The owner is honest and fair on your bill. He goes out of his way to accommodate you. I live in town and didn't have a ride while my car was being serviced, and he actually gave me a ride home and picked me up when it was fixed. I've had nothing but a good experience the 3 times I've had my car repaired there. I would highly recommend!!!

Great shop-highly recommend! My daughter's car broke down on the way home from college. We had it towed to Gerl's based on the reviews and had such a great experience, I wanted to share. They had to replace the right driveshaft and u-joint and completed the repair quickly and for less than I expected. They are truly top notch and I only wish their shop was close to home as they totally earned my trust such that they would have ALL of my future business!

I hit a deer between Litchfield and Carlinville IL. Blessedly it only hit the corner of my front end but it was still not drivable. I had to pick an auto shop and Gerl's was one of my choices. It was after hours so I didn't talk to Mr Gerl until the next day. He was very sympathetic but also realistic about my situation. The quote to completely repair my car was way more than I could afford and without delay he found cheaper parts and patched up my car so I could get back on the road. I'm very thankful that of the choices I had that night, I chose Gerl's. He was polite, fair, and no nonsense when it came to fixing my car.
