The most negligent, “used care salesman” service I have ever experienced. I had my mini Cooper towed to them with a crank no start and explained—before they touched the car—that I had previously resolved the same issue last January with an engine carbon flush and new spark plugs. My priority was to get the engine to turn over with basic diagnostics. Without testing my high pressure fuel pump, I was told that I may need a new one. In the same breath, they admitted that swapping of coils and plugs got the engine to turn over (as I expected). Suspicious that they would suggest such an expensive part as the culprit (>$1000 w/o labor), without thoroughly testing it first, I declined further work and picked up the car as-is. Relatively new in town, I tried the first mechanic I came across and got a quote that felt a bit high, especially since I mentioned I only planned to keep my car another year. A few people recommended Greenfield Auto Specialists for a second opinion, and I’m glad they did. They handled the work at a more reasonable price, took care of a couple of extra issues, and even ran the car over for inspection (above and beyond). I’ve definitely found my go-to shop.

TLDR: They used the wrong oil even after we asked to verify they had the correct one. – After our vehicle ran out of its extended warranty, we were looking for a new independent shop to maintain our VW Touareg tdi and booked an appointment for an oil change. At drop off, I asked a specific question to verify that they were using the required VW 507 spec oil because we have a dpf system. The gentleman at the counter said “yes of course, we know what we're doing”. He seemed annoyed by the question but that wasn't a big deal. But when I inspected the invoice, they used the wrong oil. VW 505 was used which is designed for older tdis without a dpf system and not recommended for a newer tdi. It won't ruin the system after only one oil change but it's not correct and we won't be returning. Too b
