Hertz Car Rental - Hartford - Weston Street

This review is specifically about the Hartford – Weston Street Hertz location and the handling of my February 12, 2026 reservation by the branch manager, Jennifer. I arrived at 3:00 PM for a confirmed 4:30 PM reservation that had been made over two months in advance. I stood in the branch for more than 20 minutes without acknowledgment while another customer who entered after me was immediately assisted. There is no clear check-in process or signage explaining how customers are prioritized. When I was finally helped, I was told that because two reservations appeared in the system (I had modified my booking months earlier), neither vehicle was held. Rather than clarifying the active reservation or attempting to resolve the situation, the decision was made to hold neither vehicle. During

walked in expecting to pick up my Uber rental and ended up wasting over two hours of my day because of how disorganized this location is. For the first hour, no one told me that you’re apparently supposed to “sign in” by scanning a QR code that’s printed on a tiny piece of printer paper at the front desk. There’s no clear sign, no employee directing customers, and nothing that actually tells you what to do when you walk in. So I sat there like several other people, assuming we were waiting in line. After finally figuring that out and waiting another full hour, they then tell me that they don’t have any gas cars available — only electric vehicles. Horrible service. Rude management. Cars are crap, they need to be serviced and cleaned. Their employees need to be educated/trained as they do not know what they are doing. Worst experience with a rental company as a consumer I have ever had. I will be contacting corporate and this locations GM. Changes need to be made at this location immediately.

Been here 3 times so far. Customer service has always been great. Feel in love with the first rental they gave me which was a big big up truck. Bronco not so much but for no fault of Hertz. Then I discovered they have rent to buy options. I like that I can tryout different cars to find the best fit for me. It seems like they have a decent variety of cars to pick from.

Probably some of the worst experiences I’ve had is here. It’s very unprofessional you cannot take this location serious at all. The cars are trash. I had to go switch out a vehicle the car that they were initially trying to give me the poorest quality that I’ve ever seen within. Hertz deplorable doesn’t even look like a car to hertz standard while at least to what the standards used to be. The seats were filthy and when I asked about it, I was told all of the cars most of them are like that the floor on the driver side had a huge hole. There’s no way this car should even be considered as a rental, but I was forced to try to get into it and when I refused it, I got attitude from the rep at the front when you walk in on your right his name happens to be.Keydoe his mannerism and unprofessiona
