Hertz Car Rental - Iowa City - S Riverside Drive

The representative from this location was great so the only reason they received any stars, but this car was FILTHY inside and out! To pay $200 for a 24 hour one way rental and to get it looking like this was unbelievable. I had to pull over to get something to clean the inside windshield so I could see out of it. Also, no transponder for Illinois tolls is not acceptable. I should not have to go into the Illinois toll service to pay the toll so I'm not charged $6.00+ per toll through Hertz.

Review: Terrible Experience with Hertz - Avoid This Location I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Hertz today. We reserved a car this morning for a 5 PM pick-up. Upon arrival, my wife was initially told by the manager, Austin, that there were no cars available and that only a van was an option. As she was coming back to the car to inform me, we saw Austin showing cars to other people (as shown in the attached picture). Feeling deceived, I approached Austin to ask about the situation. Austin admitted that he had cars but claimed he was not giving them to us and instead prioritizing people arriving the next day. He stated that these people had reserved before us, which was clearly a lie since we had a confirmed reservation. I realized that this was an act of racism as Austin

Great experience! They picked me up on the day of my rental and dropped me off on my return date. Will use them again. Highly recommend!

We will never use this place again. We made a reservation online, just to be told the day before our pickup they didn't have anything available. They left a voicemail and asked us if we could pick it up on Monday instead, when we reserved it for Friday. Why would I set it up for a Friday if I didn't need it until Monday? The employee said he was the manager and couldn't care less of the inconvenience they made for us and the plans we had for the weekend. Luckily Enterprise pulled through, for a little cheaper too!

I have rented from here several times. Always efficient, great car selection, fantastic operating hours, and just overall top-notch.
