Hertz Car Rental - Maui Kaanapali Lahaina - Hyatt Regency

Do NOT rent from this location! We reserved a car in advance from here. The only option they allowed for pickup was 12pm. We arrived around 5 minutes after 12pm and were informed that the counter was closed and everyone went home. Perhaps they shouldn't offer 1 pickup time a day that overlaps when they are closed. There is no after hours support and you will be left having to spend more money ubering to another car rental company to spend 3 times more on the total cost of renting a car for your vacation. The Hyatt will also take to no responsibility and act completely clueless because they'll claim it's a separate agency and that they have no control over even though they're located within their lobby. I had a good time and no problems picking up my car from this location at the Maui Hotel Hyatt Regency. Nice and friendly service with no issues. The car wasn't fully clean for a luxury car I rented, can't even see the back mirrors when I was driving. Please keep your cars clean, the service was excellent and fast in the office inside the hotel. I will be back to this location and I recommend it to everybody.

I'd give 0 if I could. Chaos at pick up, no cars available for a reservation made months ago. Waiting time that kept on increasing with no explanation whatsoever. Incredibly rude with customers, we had to ask to call their managers. When she showed up and she kept on "working at our case" for another half hour (while having other customers passing in front of us and a whole bunch of ready to go cars in other categories sitting in the parking lot). We ended up being assigned an old 8 (!) people SUV with no connection to Android or iphones and tricky to drive. You lost a loyal customer.

Hertz rental desk inside the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa (200 Nohea Kai Dr, Lahaina, HI 96761) — extremely disappointing experience. I had a reservation for 2/15/26 at 8:00 AM (large SUV). I got in line at 7:55 AM with only one person ahead of me and still didn’t receive a vehicle until 8:31 AM because the only representative left the desk to “check the lot” for availability. When she returned, she said the vehicle class I reserved was not available and provided a non-comparable vehicle instead. The representative also stated the vehicle had not been cleaned and attempted to wipe sand/dust off with a cloth during the walk-around. She told me the vehicle was about half a tank of gas and said she “marked it in the system.” She did not—my paperwork reflected 100% fuel at pickup. I re

Reserved a Hertz rental car at this location 9 mos before our vacation. Went to pick up the vehicle and was rudely advised they had no cars nor could they assist us as to when a car would be available. They do not answer the local phone number we were given and provided awful customer service. The rental agent suggested we Uber ($100) back to the airport to check if they had a car but could not guarantee one would be available there either. The only positive thing was my partner was thanked for being a Gold Member. What a joke. Recommend any other car rental agency on Maui other than Hertz.
