Hertz Car Rental - Oceanside - Oceanside Boulevard

Rented a car with them couple weeks back. Not the right category that I had picked on the website and ended up with a much less fuel efficient car. Had to pick one up today at noon. When I arrived, after having called multiple times with no answer, the door was locked. The employee (ginger with a beard, glasses, tattoos) informed me that he was not allowed to rent me a car because it was 3 minutes past noon and complained that he didn’t have a break on this day. On Saturday, they are open 3 hours between 9 and 12 in the morning. This was supposed to be a roughly 500$ rental for a week. Avoid at all cost, there’s multiple other, easier and cheaper options around (budget rental car/ turo etc…)

I rented a car during the Christmas season last year. I made a reservation through Priceline the day before, and had no issues with pickup or wait time. Completely hassle-free experience. There was a small hiccup with the car, and Steve really went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of. Thank you, Steve!!!! I will absolutely rent from this location again, and it is because of him.

Great price for a modern rental. It was easy to secure the vehicle, to drive and turn in. My experience was hassle free. The staff was knowledgeable and courteous. I will be back for another when I need one. Hopefully, not for a while though. 😉

The moment you walk in it's dingy and dirty. They seriously need a cleaning crew asap- cobwebs on the ripped chairs and mystery substances all over the desk. I called a day in advance to reserve a full size suv or truck and the girl (no name given) just gave me a quick "sure" when I asked for reservation info or confirmation she said she noted it on my booking and would not help further ... but when I got there they tried to give me a Prius- I was very confused and said as much. Steve was super polite and I can appreciate his effort (only reason for 2 star and not 1) but he was working solo with a full lobby and was doing his best to take care of everyone. Corporations should not rent from this location. Horrible service. I called multiple times, no one picks up the phone. I called corporate to verify the car is available and they said yes it is. I went across town to the location just to be told it's not avaliable. We I told them their phone is either off or broke and they didn't care. I think they turn off the phone when its busy. This unacceptable behavior. I checked online and despite not having inventory they still let you rent. Looking at the horrible reviews I believe they dont care.
